CREATING CONNECTIONS.

The Indigenous Education service-learning program provided pre-service teachers and participants with an opportunity to learn from Indigenous community leaders and experience education in one of several Indigenous contexts. This opportunity greatly enhanced participants' understanding of different ways of meeting the needs of diverse learners, and provided firsthand experience working with teachers in rural community settings including on-reserve schools.
