INDIGENOUS RESEARCH WISE PRACTICES GUIDE
Within the University of Calgary Community
Dr. Yvonne Poitras Pratt and Dr. Patricia Danyluk hosted a series of distributed leadership gatherings from 2016-19 where researchers who work with indigenous communities from across a variety of disciplines gathered together to share wise practices. The wise practices guide based on the Relational Model for Teaching and Learning (Lalonde, 2017) will be shared with the Indigenous Strategy team at the University of Calgary. We are pleased to report that Solange's Relational Model (Lalonde, 2017) was gifted with symbols from Kainai Elder Reg Crowshoe through a transfer ceremony in 2018.
With the hiring of more Indigenous scholars at the University of Calgary, this initiative will help to inform future Indigenous research and Indigenous community engagement initiatives.
